PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY

Infant colic

When a baby does not stop crying every afternoon or evening for no apparent reason, with fists clenched, legs bent towards the abdomen and seems nervous, it is very likely that he/she has infant colic.

Physiotherapy in cases of infant colic improves intestinal transit movements, reduces abdominal muscle tension and favours the elimination of gases, improving the expulsion of faeces. The baby’s state of nervousness is improved.

Respiratory physiotherapy

The aim is to prevent, treat and stabilise alterations in the child’s breathing, improving:

  • Pulmonary ventilation
  • Gas exchange
  • The muscles involved in breathing
  • Exercise tolerance

Postural treatment

The physiotherapist’s work in child development consists of assessing, educating and raising awareness in order to promote health and prevent illness.

In this field we treat postural problems such as kyphosis, scoliosis, hyperlordosis and flat feet, with physical exercises for flexibility and strengthening, as well as specific manual techniques.

NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS

These disorders are characterised by a certain alteration in the acquisition of developmental skills, whether of a motor, social, language or cognitive nature.

Our work methodology consists of facilitating communication and stimulating the child’s neurodevelopment by establishing objectives together and in coordination with the family.
